Autumn Tips

The summer heat is over and September and October are transition months. The days may be warm, but the mornings and evenings are cooler.

Be sure you are not overwatering at this time of the year. Do not send water and money down the drain.

Readjust your controller for fewer days or shorter run times on each station. This will help save water and money. Call us if you need help with these adjustments or better yet, invest now in a “Smart” controller so your system will make these adjustments automatically for you at each season.

This is the best time of year to replace those water thirsty plants with native plantings that will use far less water in the future. Fall is the optimal planting time as the ground temperature is warm and the winter rains will be coming to help new plants get established more quickly. There are many low-volume, micro irrigation products on the market now that apply a very small amount of water slowly and precisely where needed.

With just a few simple strategies, you can save water and save money.
• Work with an Irrigation Professional who stays abreast of new products
• Invest in a new efficient system and maintain your system on a regular basis
• Water wisely and plant correctly
